I had the opportunity to go to one of the leading Internet marketing conferences, Search Engine Strategies, held in one of the capitals of search: San Francisco. In addition to learning cutting edge Internet marketing and visibility strategies, I had the rare opportunity to meet and chat with Matt Cutts, the head of the Google Webspam team, and discuss the future of mobile web search.

Basically, Matt said that in the very near future mobile usage of the Google search engine would surpass desktop usage. And he said that this would happen in weeks, not months. He also continued to say that your website must be mobile compatible in order to do well in Google search results moving forward. This will include mobile page load time and whether or not the site can be viewed properly on a variety of mobile devices and screen sizes. Sites will be negatively impacted and penalized in the future if the mobile experience is not up to par. All in all, the conversation was very insightful. He even let me snap a quick picture with him before taking off.

I had a great time at the conference and loved having the opportunity to talk to quite possibly the most influential man in the search engine world. Mobile search is going to dominate the future of the web.

MyAdvice provides a variety of services to help website owners become mobile compatible and will continue to be an industry leader in the growing mobile landscape.
