Using Pictures on your Website – The Do’s and Don’ts
- Posted on: Jun 19 2015
The most common and effective ways to enhance the appeal of a website is to add images to your pages. That said, care should be taken to mind the law as well as the audience you are targeting. Just as using the right pictures can enhance the appeal of your website, using the wrong one can make it unpopular in no time. So here are a few tips you should keep in mind when using pictures on your website.
Tips for Using Pictures on Your Website
Here are a few things you should remember when using photographs or images on your healthcare website.
- Use Relevant Images – The most important thing to keep in mind when choosing an image to use on your website is to keep the audience in mind. Before you choose an image, ask yourself these questions – is the image relevant to your services? Is it appropriate for the audience to see such images? Does it add to the appeal of your website?
- Don’t Copy or Use Images from Other Websites – Did you know that you could get sued for copying images from other websites or using another’s pictures without permission? To avoid any legal complications, make sure that you use only original images or images that you have a legal right to use on your website.
- Images Should Not be Too Big – The size of the picture you use should be appropriately sized for the page it is on. Images shouldn’t be too big that they slow down the website or too small that they are not clearly visible. At the same time, too few or too many images on a website can also affect its appeal.
